Mission Partner – London City Mission Nick Labiche and family Nick Labiche supported by his wife Veronique and their two children Abigail (9) and Isaac (4) is our mission partner with the London City Mission working at the Church on the Farm. The Church on the Farm is a church plant from St Ann’s Church in Tottenham, located on the Broadwater Farm Estate. It is a mix of high rise apartment blocks and housing estates and as such, has all of the challenges and joys of a diverse, multi-cultural and vibrant community. Challenges facing Nick and the pastoral team he works with include high unemployment, particularly among young men, drug misuse and despite the high density housing, loneliness. In fact, loneliness is not just an issue faced by some in the community – Nick asks for prayers that loneliness, discouragement and despair will not be problems he struggles with in his ministry. Busyness in his work can be a distraction from spending time in God’s Word so Nick also asks for prayers that he will be able to spend time on his own personal relationship with God – growing in his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ so that he can better support the needs of his ministry. Nick will be working with Elizabeth, a new addition to the London City Mission team, with a particular focus on outreach into the local primary school. As north London also has a high Muslim population Nick and the team will inevitably encounter some Muslims, many of whom will not speak English, so again, Nick asks for prayers that he will act with wisdom in his dealings with them. Nick shares our belief that prayer is the engine of gospel work and if we do not pray then we cannot expect God to work on our behalf - so please make Nick and all our mission partners people you pray for on a regular basis. |
