With the repeated call for the nation's people to embrace a new democratic era of equity, peace and prosperity, the church is coming to terms with its need to train men and women for a greater calling: effective gospel ministry in the local church. This is where Bible Institute Eastern Cape (BIEC) fits in... Following the end of apartheid in the 1990s, BIEC established itself as the primary Bible training college in the city dedicated to equipping those people particularly from underprivileged backgrounds, with little or no ministry and theological training. Over the last 15 years several hundred men and women have been taught the essentials in the Bible, theology and mission, from the basics up to degree level, serving the church in urban townships and suburbs as well as rural towns and villages. Jamie is one of 5 full time staff at BIEC teaching biblical studies as well as some courses in doctrine and mission. Helen is a great support in this and when possible, helps with hospitality and some design work for BIEC. As one family within another, we would greatly value your partnership and prayers.
